Malé Atoll is a natural atoll of the Maldives. This atoll consists of two separate atolls: North Malé Atoll and South Malé Atoll. Together with Kaashidhoo Island and Gaafaru, Malé Atoll forms the administrative division known as Kaafu Atoll.
Kurumba Maldives is the first resort opened in the Maldives in 1972. Following complete reconstruction in 2003 it has emerged as a grand resort of distinctive style and panache. Kurumba is a mere 15 minutes by speedboat from touch down.
The resort's name 'Kurumba' is derived from the coconut trees that grow here in glorious abundance. The resort 's lovingly nurtured tropical gardens include an orchid nursery. Shaded paths lead from one side of this 30-acre circular island to the other. Intimate white beaches are protected by eco-breakwaters of weathered coral.
38 Superior Rooms - 74 sq. metres : Spacious double storey, four room houses built in graceful colonial style with each room having a private beach view terrace or balcony. The bedroom leads to a bright, spacious bathroom partly open to the sky.
39 Deluxe Rooms - 50 sq. metres : Situated on the edge of the Sea. Open air shower and a breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean. Cozy and intimate.
74 Deluxe Bungalows - 74 sq. metres : This is the signature accommodation that sets the theme of Kurumba Maldives. Individuals bungalows located on the beach, some in retreat - Window wall opening onto the verandah & beach.
10 Garden Villas - from 103 sq. metres : Bedroom with a king size bed adjoining a sitting room and a verandah. A patio at the entrance, bathroom with a glass walled shower, marble bath tub and an open courtyard complete with a “Rain Shower” under a traditional thatched awning. The Garden Villa looks over beautifully manicured gardens.
06 Private Villas - from 103 sq. metres : Bedroom with a king size four poster bed adjoining a sitting room and a verandah. A patio at the entrance, bathroom with a glass walled shower, marble bath tub and an open courtyard complete with a "Rain Shower" under a traditional thatched awning. The Private Villas come with a choice of Beach Front or Garden Front, while the former is just a few steps from the Lagoon and the Open Sea , the latter looks over beautifully manicured gardens.
08 Pool Villas - from 200 sq. metres : The Pool Villa comes with an enchanting Bedroom with a four poster king size bed, a sitting room and verandah and a private swimming pool complete with Jacuzzi in a garden of flowers and therapeutic stones. There is a graceful waterfall, a lush open-air shower and a daybed for two set in a thatched roof pavilion. The private courtyard has an exclusive entrance from the beach or through the villa's bathroom.
04 Presidential Villa - 255 sq metres : Dedicated to Luxury and relaxation, the Presidential Villas are tastefully constructed to ensure your privacy. A Grand Bedroom on the Upper level with a King Size Four poster Bed overlooks the beach and ocean. The level also sports a walk-in dressing room and a bathroom with separate glass-walled shower and central marble-sided bathtub, plus an outside patio with Jacuzzi set in a thatched-roof tower. A large sitting room off the beachfront veranda on the Ground floor, this plush Duplex Suite also boats of a luxurious private swimming pool in a private interior courtyard.
ROYAL KURUMBA RESIDENCE : The ultimate in luxurious living, this two bedroom suite with two swimming pools and a spacious sundeck over the beach, the Royal Kurumba Residence has proved a favorite with heads of state. Entrance is through a courtyard by a bridge over an ornamental pool with a thatched pavilion and daybeds on either side. A patio gives access to a foyer and huge sitting room, complete with butler's pantry and guest washroom.
Vihamana – Main Restaurant: The main restaurant at the Kurumba Maldives. Offers gourmet buffets for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. With a different theme buffet every night the restaurant offers all Full and Half Board guests some of the best cuisine options to choose from. The Restaurant is also open to all bed and breakfast and Room only guests.
The Ocean Grill: Located on the edge of the beach with an overwater deck offering a panoramic view of the Indian Ocean.. Ideal for romantic candlelit dinner as well as special groups of 10 to 15. Lavish seafood buffet on Sundays.
The Hamakaze: "Ocean Winds" - The Hamakaze is the Sushi Bar and Teppen - Yaki counter serving a unique style of cuisine from the Land of The Rising Sun. The Hamakaze is located right next to the Ocean Grill and the Lobster pond.
Al Qasr: Arabian Nights at the Kurumba Maldives. Set with Arabic and other artefacts from the Middle East the Al Qasr serves traditional Lebanese specialities.
Kurumba Mahal: Cuisine from the royal kitchens of North India.
Ming Court: Chinese Restaurant serving oriental delicasies from the Mainland.
Golden Cowrie: Fine Italian cuisine. A variety of pastas and risottos. In the flavours of Tuscany and Lombardy, Sardinia and Sicily. Bon Apetito!
Neptune – Coffee Shop: Located right opposite the pool the Neptune Coffee Shop is the laidback all day dining restaurant at the Kurumba Maldives. Pastas, sandwiches, burgers, children's menu and select beverages are available at the coffee shop for every taste through the day till late at night.
The Beach Bar: The place to chill! Selection of champagne, wines, spirits and liquors here is celestic and vast. A live band is in attendance five nights a week.
